Dawn, from Gwadar, 21 October: ten bullet-riddled bodies, found over the past two days, in four Balochistan districts — Gwadar, Kech, Khuzdar, Washuk. Discoveries. Not a confirmed attribution. Dump Dawn.

Four, in Pasni. One, a missing student of the University of Gwadar. Dawn does not give the name. Daily Qudrat, from police: two of the four were identified, Hafeez and Javed; Hafeez’s family say he was studying in Gwadar and that contact broke off in August last year. Two names. An unnamed student in Dawn. Do not mix them as one official list.

In Kech, Buleda tehsil, Selo Kour: two bodies, taken to hospital. Identities, not yet. Near the Siahonzai grid, Basima, Washuk: Muhammad Amir, of Basima. A day earlier, at Mula Cross, Khuzdar, another body. Dawn says ten. Do not fill the gap with other tallies from the same week.

Dunya wrote on Tuesday of six, with other names. Qudrat wrote of four, Pasni only. Dawn, ten, four districts. Three counts. Stay with Dawn for the total. It is not a single file. Police did not say, in Dawn, who fired. Nor whether the finds belong together.

Balochwarna ties some of the bodies to enforced disappearances. That is a separate account. It is not Dawn’s sentence. It is not a verdict. It is not an attribution.

Dump Dawn. The rewrite rests on Dawn and Daily Qudrat.
