Apple began selling the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on Friday, 18 September, after the 9 September launch event and pre-orders that opened on 12 September at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time. This wave covers more than 65 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, India and Japan. About 20 further markets follow on 25 September.
In its 9 September release the company highlights the A20 chip, cameras, battery life and Apple Intelligence features. The finishes listed are black, silver, glacier and burgundy. Prices, storage and carrier offers differ by country; the local Apple site remains the reference for stock and warranty.
Apple Watch Series 12 and AirPods 5 also reached stores the same day. Their calendars do not match the foldable model. iPhone Duo, also unveiled on 9 September as the first foldable iPhone, opens for pre-order on 16 October and goes on sale on 23 October in the United States and more than 70 countries. A second wave is listed for 30 October.
Apple describes Duo as the largest-display iPhone when open: a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.4-inch outer display. The company says the inner surface is 50 percent larger than on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. In the US the base 256 GB configuration is listed from $1,999. The hinge, screen durability and battery life will need independent tests, not only launch copy.
Apple’s move into foldables follows years in which other manufacturers have sold clamshell phones. Competition will turn on dual-screen software, thickness and price. Duo should not be confused with the Pro series reaching shops today.
Anyone buying an 18 Pro on Friday is getting the September line, not the foldable. Anyone waiting for Duo has a separate timetable, with its own price and storage options. Full specifications, accessory compatibility and return terms should be checked on the Apple site for that market, not on a short global headline.
