S.R.L. Chișinău-gaz said on 21 October that no natural-gas leak had been found on Ceucari Street in Chișinău, near apartment blocks 8-10. The statement followed a Realitatea.md video showing a jet coming from a pipe, next to a playground in the Poșta Veche neighbourhood.

The company says an economic operator is checking and cleaning a newly built gas network there with compressed air. That network, according to the distributor, is not connected to the distribution system Chișinău-gaz runs.

Compressed air is being released during the work. Company specialists reported no natural-gas leaks. The firm says it is monitoring the situation and asks residents to rely on official sources and not to spread unverified claims.

Earlier the same day, Realitatea.md reported that a reader had sent the pictures and that, although the area was fenced, no Chișinău-gaz staff were seen on site. The company call centre then told the newsroom it had no information about works on Ceucari, and the Rîșcani office asked for an official request by email.

The gap between the call-centre answer and the afternoon statement is an operator denial, not confirmation of an accident. In the material consulted, the company did not publish a technical report with measurements or name the contractor.

Poșta Veche is a residential neighbourhood. Children next to the pipe, as described by the person who filmed, remain a description of the pictures, not an official risk assessment. Until emergency services issue a tally, the facts are what the distributor said and what the witness filmed.
