A Russian drone hit the central park in Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv Oblast, on Monday afternoon, not the city of Kharkiv. The Kyiv Independent reported it. The BBC tracked the figures. This is not the overnight attack on Kyiv and not a closed death toll.

National police later said five people were killed: three women and two girls born in 2015 and 2025. Interfax carried Governor Oleh Syniehubov's update: five, not six; girls aged 11 and about one. Fifteen people were injured, including seven children. The early evening figures were different.

Emergency services first spoke of two women and an infant in a stroller, and 14 injured. Syniehubov then raised the dead to six, including three children. President Volodymyr Zelensky still wrote of six, of a girl named Anhelina born in August 2025, of her mother Inna who died in hospital, and of an 11-year-old girl. A name from the president does not replace a police tally.

Regional prosecutors said the strike was around 4:30 p.m. local time, with a Geran-3 drone, on preliminary findings. Zelensky spoke of a Shahed. A preliminary label is not a closed forensic report. A war-crime investigation has been opened, not a verdict.

Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi said families with children were in the park and that the attack had no military purpose. That is Kyiv's position. A cafe, a car, an apartment block and a house were damaged, police noted. Anyone writing that all of Kharkiv or a school was hit is writing past a park in Nova Vodolaha.

The Kyiv Independent, in an update, kept a toll of six, including a man of about 40 and an eight-year-old girl. Those details do not match the police and the Interfax update. Until there is a single official list, the latest police and governor figure is five dead, and a case remains open.
