Emma Delaney, chief executive of OMV in Vienna, is the sole candidate for member and chair of OMV Petrom’s Supervisory Board. The list is on the company’s website. Shareholders vote at the Ordinary General Meeting on 6 November, first convening, at Petrom City. This is not an appointment already made: it is a motion on the agenda.
Delaney has held the seat on an interim basis since 1 September 2026, after Alfred Stern waived his mandate. OMV Petrom reported the change on 28 August. The chair has traditionally gone to the head of the parent group. The Irish executive became president of OMV’s Executive Board on the same 1 September; Forbes and Mediafax describe her as the first woman, and the first person who is not Austrian or German, in that chair.
The mandate sought is the remainder of Stern’s term, not a fresh cycle. Nominations could be filed until 12 October, by shareholders or by board members. One name remains. That does not make the 6 November vote a legal formality: without quorum and without a majority, the list stays a list.
The filed CV, Emma Louise Delaney McKnight, lists an ESCP master’s and a degree from Trinity College Dublin. Nearly 30 years at bp, upstream and downstream, covering Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. Date of birth on the file: 20 August 1973. This is not a verdict on Neptun Deep: Forbes notes a working visit to Romania and the equal partnership with Romgaz in the deep-water block, without a new production timetable.
At the end of June 2026, OMV Aktiengesellschaft held 51.15 per cent of OMV Petrom. The state, through the Energy Ministry, 20.69 per cent. Romanian pension funds, about 25.1 per cent. The rest, other investors. The official convening puts the meeting at 10:00 at 22 Coralilor Street, with 21 October as the shareholder record date. Christina Verchere, the subsidiary’s CEO, is empowered to sign the resolutions if the vote passes.
Until 6 November, Delaney remains interim. We have not treated political meetings in Bucharest as part of the appointment. The Supervisory Board is not a Board of Directors: OMV Petrom is a two-tier company.
