On Wednesday, 21 October 2026, NASK published “Reakcja platform społecznościowych na zgłoszenia w I półroczu 2026 roku”. Deputy Prime Minister and Digitalisation Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, at the briefing, called the platforms a “cichym sojusznikiem” of Russian bots and the Kremlin — a silent ally. That is his characterisation, not a court finding.
The Disinformation Analysis Centre sent more than 65,000 reports. In the body: nearly 7% ended in removal; the lede puts 6.7%. More than 17% were moderated. Nearly 50,000, about 76%, drew no response. Removal plus moderation stay under 25%. 6.7% and 7% are the same wave, not two years.
On X, NASK: 2.5% of the flagged items were removed, 79% of reports rejected. Impersonation of institutions or public figures: nearly 77% removed. False information: more than 85% rejected. Those are not the same rate across every category.
PAP, as carried by dlahandlu: he demanded today Polish-language moderation teams working from Poland, tied to NASK and the special services. He also demanded shorter response times, immediate removal of identified bot networks, and the scrapping of “fictional appeal procedures”. Every unmet state request would, he said, be evidence to open fine proceedings — tens of millions of zloty or euro. A threat, not a fine already levied.
NASK flagged supplement ads with fake “specialists”, accounts posing as institutions, and narratives on aid to Ukraine and the Puszcza Solska fire — that NATO was clearing ground for military infrastructure. That is the flagged material, not a NATO statement. Izabela Jarka, of the rapid-response team, spoke of fear and division. Magdalena Wilczyńska spoke of bots and AI. Paweł Olszewski spoke of a Centre for Fighting Disinformation. A plan, not a completed fine.
“The information security of Polish women and men is treated by social platforms as a side element of doing business,” Gawkowski said. Some do not react at all, others only minimally. Inaction, in his wording, favours Russian influence operations. That is not an alliance proven in court.
Mediafax carried the Reuters wire. The rewrite rests on NASK and PAP. Nobody was fined on Wednesday. The report covers the first half of 2026, not the full year.
