On Wednesday, 21 October 2026, Lenzing AG said it had completed the rights issue launched on 1 October. The Upper Austrian company makes wood-based cellulose fibres. A closed operation, not a law.

It offered 34,756,362 new shares at €8.65. Gross proceeds: about €301.2 million. Rights subscriptions took 34,411,626 shares, 99 percent. The small remainder was sold in the market by the managing banks. The two figures stay apart: 99 percent is the take-up of rights, not a leftover majority.

The syndicate of B&C Group and Suzano S.A. took 18,159,291 new shares, about 52.25 percent of the offering. Oberbank AG took 1,344,177, about 3.87 percent. Those are slices of the issue, not a new control map as of today.

The money, Lenzing says, will support the “Grow Nonwovens, Reset Textiles” strategy and the capital structure. The medium-term aims — €150 million more EBITDA, a 20–25 percent margin, net leverage below 2.5 times EBITDA — remain aims, not Wednesday’s result.

Settlement, delivery of the shares and trading on the Vienna Stock Exchange, ISIN AT0000644505, Prime Market, are expected on 23 October if the increase is registered with the companies register. An expectation, not a listing already done. The extraordinary meeting of 25 August authorised the operation.

derStandard, after Reuters: the early-October announcement sent the share down, at times to a 2009 low. That is their reporting, not our market verdict. Georg Kasperkovitz, the CEO: completion shows confidence in the transformation. A quote, not a balance sheet.
