A woman of about 45 was found dead on Saturday morning, outdoors, by a block of flats in the Valla district of Linköping. Police opened a murder investigation because some circumstances are unclear. That is a working classification, not a verdict. Nobody is in custody and nobody is a suspect.
The call came at 11:18. Police and ambulance. Relatives have been told. The scene, in the T1 / Valla area, was sealed for forensics. Witnesses are being interviewed. Spokesperson Johanna Malm told SVT that witness accounts point to fall injuries, but that police will not speculate on how it happened.
The street is central, with many homes; there were witnesses, Malm said. The larger work on site was, by Saturday afternoon, nearly done. The scene examination remains. Swedish Radio matches the same line: unclear circumstances, nobody held, and the classification can change.
A murder inquiry in Sweden is often opened so that investigative steps can be taken, not to announce a killer. With no suspect and no public forensic cause, the death is unexplained.
The woman's name has not been published. This is not a conviction. It is not even a charge. The fall from witnesses is a lead, not a finding.
Valla is a district of flats. On Saturday it became a sealed scene. Until a lab and a cause, the file sits as murder only so it can be investigated.
