Mads Thychosen takes all the blame after a 5–6 home defeat to Brommapojkarna. AIK’s right-back, a 29-year-old Dane, tells SVT Sport: “I don’t think anyone hates that match more than I do.” It was 0–0 at the break. In the 70th minute AIK were 1–5. They came back and levelled in added time, then lost 5–6.

“I have done a fairly big analysis of my defending and it was far too poor. It must not happen. I have to take it like a man. You get praise when it goes well, criticism when it doesn’t. I am fine with that.” He barely reads social media, but he knows that if he is involved in two or three goals the criticism comes. “I also know I am a better footballer than I was against BP.”

He feels mentally solid, he says, but he will not lie: “Of course it is tough. I don’t think anyone has looked in the mirror this week as much as I have. I take all the responsibility.” On selection: that is José Riveiro’s call. “I get it if he drops me. If he thinks others are better, or that I am the best right-back, I trust him.”

FotbollDirekt, from Solna, has the same line: six goals conceded at home is “completely unacceptable.” Six days have passed; on Saturday IFK Göteborg visit, five wins in a row. “Hopefully you will see a completely different AIK tomorrow.” Ligan.se has the 5–6, on 10 October, Thychosen starting 90 minutes, a yellow card on 58.

He joined AIK from Midtjylland in 2023. The Göteborg match, at Strawberry Arena, kicks off at 17.30. Göteborg are tough and aggressive, he says; the duels have to go up a level.

This is a player’s self-criticism, not a sentence. The coach picks the eleven.
