The Administrative Appeals Chamber in Mar del Plata admitted the Buenos Aires State Attorney’s complaint and gave the appeal suspensive effect. The September injunction that had frozen the electricity-tariff rise is itself suspended. The merits stay open. A freeze on an injunction. Not a final judgment. Dump Clarín.
Infrastructure ministry resolution 585/2026: plus 1.5–3.5% from 1 August, on EDEN, EDEA, EDES, EDELAP. About 1.5 million customers, Clarín writes. La Nueva, from Noticias Argentinas: Judge Agustín López Coppola, in Bahía Blanca, had stopped it on 18 September, at the request of ombudsman Guido Lorenzino. No new public hearing. Two courts. Two moments. Do not mix them.
The province: no new hearing was needed; the rises belong to a tariff transition, with criteria discussed in 2016. López Coppola: ten years without a hearing; an indefinite “transition tariff” empties the users’ right to information. That is the merits argument. The chamber did not decide the merits.
La Nueva: first instance refused a suspensive appeal. The State Attorney complained. The chamber: arguments and technical reports, enough, at first sight, for a possible hit to the public interest. Without prejudging whether the injunction holds. Clarín wrote that the court “rejected the challenges to the adjustment”. That is the headline. The order is suspensive effect. It is not a win on the merits.
The distributors may put the new sums on the next bills. The argument over the legality of the grid continues. “Pay first, protest later” is the correspondent’s gloss. It is not the chamber’s operative part.
Dump Clarín. The rewrite rests on Clarín and La Nueva.
