On Friday, 25 September 2026, PNL’s National Political Bureau unanimously approved the governing programme and the list of Liberal ministers proposed by prime minister-designate Siegfried Mureșan. Spokesman Ionel Bogdan announced the names. A place on the list is a party nomination, not an appointment.
According to Agerpres, the PNL list is: Mircea Abrudean, deputy prime minister and interior minister; Alexandru Nazare, finance; Raluca Turcan, labour, family, youth and social solidarity; Oana Gheorghiu, health; Dragoș Pîslaru, European investments and projects; Mihai Dimian, education and research; Sebastian Burduja, energy.
PNL also supports Andrea Chiș, an independent, as justice minister, with USR and UDMR backing. Other portfolios in a PNL–USR–UDMR coalition, announced separately the same day, are not treated here as an invested cabinet.
Bogdan said Mureșan was to lodge the cabinet list and governing programme in Parliament on Saturday. The designate, quoted in the PNL statement, expected hearings and a confidence vote early the following week, “Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest”.
The party statement speaks of continuing reforms begun under Ilie Bolojan’s government and of growth with responsibility for public finances. That is party language, not an act of Parliament.
The remaining path is nomination, committee hearings and a confidence vote. Without the vote, the list does not produce a government. This article covers the 25 September announcement, not the later outcome of the procedure.
Readers should separate PNL’s negotiated team from the final executive, which depends on Parliament.
