Romania’s women finished artistic gymnastics qualifying at the World Championships in Rotterdam with 151.996 points and missed the team final. Digi Sport published the scores on Sunday, 18 October 2026, at 20:21. The international federation, on worldgymnastics.org, holds the same total. Japan, Great Britain, Russia, China, the United States, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Colombia went through. Romania is not on the list.
The Romanians competed in subdivision 1 at Ahoy. The United States, in the same session, scored 164.529. Eurosport wrote, during the day, that a 15-point gap to the Americans and the place in the subdivision made qualification impossible, however many sessions remained. Ten women’s subdivisions followed; the final team ranking confirmed the call.
Romania’s highest score was 13.666, Alexia Blănaru on vault. Sabrina Maneca-Voinea had 13.633 there and 12.900 on floor. Ariana Cotu scored 13.033 on bars. On beam, Voinea stayed on 12.466. In the all-around, Blănaru ended the subdivision on 50.132, Mihăescu on 49.832. Digi Sport, citing news.ro, had them, after session 1, around sixth and just behind; after all sessions, a top-24 all-around place is a separate question, not the team final.
Nicholas Țarcă, Romania’s only man, finished the all-around on 73.099, 80th. His best score was 13.600 on pommel horse, 37th: outside the top eight. No men’s apparatus final.
Rotterdam is the first Olympic filter for Los Angeles 2028: the top three in each team final take a five-athlete ticket. Romania, outside the final, postpones that conversation to the 2027 Worlds, where nine more teams will qualify. This is not an Olympic ending; it is a door closed in 2026.
Aggregators that repeated the scores without going through Digi Sport or the FIG sometimes mixed subdivision 1 with the final ranking. The score source remains the sheet at Ahoy. Romania competed, scored 151.996 and missed the eight. The rest is apparatus talk, not a team medal missed, because medals are given in the final, not in qualifying.
