Russia’s Defence Ministry said on Sunday 25 October 2026 that Russian drones had struck overnight a cargo vessel heading for the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk. The claim, carried by Mediafax via Reuters, presents the ship as a supply run for the Ukrainian army. Reuters said it could not independently verify the ministry’s information.

The same Russian statement says Moscow’s forces also hit a logistics centre, a distribution centre and a logistics terminal in Kharkiv, described as dual-use storage for the Ukrainian military. Those details remain Russian assertions, not facts confirmed independently in the sources consulted.

In parallel, Belgorod regional governor Aleksandr Shuvayev reported three dead and 14 injured after attacks attributed to Ukraine. He said dozens of apartment blocks, cars, houses, administrative buildings and commercial premises were damaged; local authorities did not clearly separate direct hits from debris of intercepted drones.

Belgorod, with more than 300,000 residents, lies less than 35 kilometres from the Ukrainian border. Another person was killed and one injured in a village near Shebekino, regional authorities added, also via Reuters.

This article clearly attributes Moscow’s claims and the Belgorod toll to the Russian side. It does not treat the ship strike as a fact confirmed by a third party, and it does not retell the CSAT sitting or the Army Day speech as if they were the same event.
