On Monday, 19 October 2026, Finexia Financial Group (ASX: FNX) said its subsidiary Shared Beginnings Pty Ltd had been placed in voluntary administration. Bill Karageozis and Nick Keramos, of DVT McLeods, took control. Administration, not an announced closure. ABC reported the fact on Wednesday, 21 October.
Finexia says it owns and runs seven early-learning centres: Sinnamon Park and Kenmore in Queensland, Reservoir, Mont Albert and Beaumaris in Victoria, Bonython and Conder in the ACT. The centres remain open, under the administrators. Places and jobs are still unclear.
Neil Sheather, Finexia’s managing director, to staff: the centres had been running at a loss. To parents: care continues. Finexia, in the ASX release: the board resolved it would no longer fund Shared Beginnings; the administrators will assess the future. Two wordings. Any buyers sit with the administrators.
The seven centres follow the collapse of Genius Early Learning in March 2025, when Finexia took the assets after unpaid loans. We do not mix this chain with other administrations in the sector, of another operator.
Finexia expects to deconsolidate from the date of appointment. The size of any impairment and contingent liabilities “is not certain at this time”. FNX shares have been suspended since 2 March, after periodic reports were not filed on time. Another clock, the same parent, not Monday’s finding.
Dump ABC. The rewrite rests on Finexia’s ASX announcement. Voluntary administration is not liquidation and not a law.
