The Romanian Patriarchate has published the programme for the feast of St Dimitrie the New, protector of Bucharest, from 18 to 28 October 2026. The feast day itself is 27 October. The notice on patriarhia.ro, not a calendar aggregator, is the source for the hours and the routes.
On the first six days, 18–23 October, veneration takes place inside the historic patriarchal cathedral between 07:00 and 21:00, because the porch is being restored. The relics of St Dimitrie the New, St Demetrius the Myrrh-Streamer, Saints Constantine and Helena and St Nectarios will be there.
On Saturday, 24 October, from 12:00, the Way of the Saints procession takes place. One column leaves the patriarchal cathedral along Patriarhiei Street and Regina Maria Boulevard towards the foot of Patriarchate Hill in Unirii Square. The second leaves the metropolitan cathedral of St Spyridon the New along Bibescu Vodă Street, carrying the relics of St Nectarios, Saints Constantine and Helena and St Elisabeth of Pasărea. The two meet at Unirii and climb together.
At 12:45 Patriarch Daniel receives the reliquaries at the summer altar and gives a blessing. The relics are then placed in the Saints' Canopy on the hill. Elisabeth of Pasărea is brought from 24 October, not from the first day.
On Sunday, 18 October, the programme opens with the Divine Liturgy at the summer altar, 09:30–12:00, and continues in the afternoon with the Paraklesis of the Mother of God. On the following days the liturgy is in the cathedral in the morning, with vespers and the paraklesis of St Dimitrie in the evening.
Digi24 relayed the Patriarchate's statement with the same hours. Anyone coming to venerate the relics should follow the porch restoration and Saturday's columns, not a programme from another year.
