The Tennessee Titans released defensive lineman Jordan Elliott on Tuesday after an incident on Thursday, 15 October, at the team facility. Coach Robert Saleh spoke about it on Wednesday, 21 October. That is a roster decision. Nashville police said they were not called. No criminal case is confirmed.

The club's Tuesday statement mentioned only an incident at the facility, an internal review and a release, with no further comment. Saleh said Elliott pulled a gun in the facility parking lot. NBC Sports, from Wednesday's press conference, ties the moment to an argument with teammate JC Latham; John Franklin-Myers is said to have stepped in. No one was hurt.

Saleh called him "a good man" with "a terrible lapse in judgment," which he sees more as a call for help than a criminal act. That is the coach speaking. It is not a prosecutor's finding. The NFL told NBC that league rules bar firearms at club facilities, stadiums, team hotels and on team planes or buses. The matter is under league review. An internal rule, not a verdict.

Elliott, 28, is in his seventh season. He had played Tennessee's first five games of 2026. On Sunday he was inactive, for personal reasons, not injury, in a 26-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He signed in Nashville this offseason after two years with the San Francisco 49ers and four with the Cleveland Browns, a reunion with Saleh, his former defensive coordinator.

Quarterback Cam Ward said Elliott is a good person and that the team is with him. Elliott's agent and the union could not be reached immediately, NBC reported. Saleh told the other 31 clubs that Elliott deserves another chance, but not in Tennessee. Rules are rules, he added, on guns on club property.
