Autonom is taking over Business Lease Romania from the AutoBinck group in a deal whose price was not disclosed and that still needs Competition Council approval. Until the procedure is finished, Business Lease Romania continues in its current form, according to Săptămâna Financiară (27 October 2026).

It is Autonom’s third acquisition in operational leasing, after BT Operational Leasing and Țiriac Operating Lease. For AutoBinck, Romania is the last of five regional markets sold in less than a year.

Autonom co-founders Marius and Dan Ștefan, quoted via Economica.net by SFIN, said operational leasing matters for the group’s growth and that the agreement reflects confidence in the segment; the aim for clients is a capable, flexible partner.

After closing, Autonom’s operational-leasing division will expand its fleet and client portfolio. This article invents no purchase price — the source says the figure was not made public.

Business Lease Romania reported last year turnover of 144 million lei (€27 million), net profit of 5 million lei (€1 million), assets of 538 million lei and liabilities of 463 million lei. It has offered operational leasing and fleet management on the local market since 2014.

Autonom is described as the largest independent Romanian-capital operator in local operational leasing and car rental. Founded in 2006 in Piatra Neamț, it has a national network of more than 50 agencies in 38 cities and a fleet of over 18,000 vehicles.
