Neamț County Council has approved the feasibility study and technical-economic indicators for the “Ținutul lui Creangă” holiday village in Târgu-Neamț, an investment estimated at 53,580,026.76 lei including VAT, according to Libertatea / the county council.
The project plans 15 themed and craft buildings on about 12.4 hectares (124,277 sq m), with architecture inspired by Moldavian farmsteads and Ion Creangă’s world. Delivery is estimated at 32 months; construction has not started yet.
Besides buildings, the plan includes workshops, cultural and educational spaces, recreation areas, landscaping and supporting infrastructure. Officials want visitors to take part in activities, not only photograph sets: crafts, local food, reading and programmes for children.
The concept cites New European Bauhaus principles — sustainability, accessibility and architectural quality — with technology used discreetly so it does not erase the traditional character. Measures for vulnerable groups and local community involvement were also discussed.
Public consultations ran from 31 March to 21 April 2026, with another round on 10 September. The idea builds on the area’s link to Humulești and Creangă’s work, which the county wants to turn into a year-round tourism offer.
Design and procurement steps still lie ahead of any worksite. The approved figure is a public investment ceiling; the exact works calendar depends on funding and the technical design.
