Gorj County Council has submitted a funding application to acquire 21 electric minibuses for school transport. The announced value is 22,328,448.63 lei including VAT, while the authority's contribution would account for 2% of eligible expenditure.

The vehicles, each offering 16 passenger seats, are intended for pupils in 13 localities: Arcani, Bumbesti-Jiu, Jupanesti, Lelesti, Matasari, Musetesti, Novaci, Stoina, Targu Carbunesti, Tismana, Turceni, Turcinesti and Ticleni.

The minibuses would feature GPS/AVL systems and be integrated into a platform monitoring vehicles, routes, journeys and travel times. The project was proposed under the Sustainable Development and Just Transition Programme 2021–2027 and would supplement 38 electric minibuses previously acquired by the county.

Submitting the application does not mean that funding or procurement is already guaranteed. Implementation, estimated at 21 months after the contract is signed and no later than 31 December 2029, depends on the project's assessment and approval.

Until funding is approved, wording remains conditional: the application has been submitted, but purchase of the 21 minibuses has not yet been confirmed.
