A major oil refinery in Kstovo (Nizhny Novgorod region) was reportedly hit in a drone attack overnight on 1 November, according to Ukrainian monitoring channels cited by the Kyiv Independent; the reports could not be independently verified at once.
Exilenova+ and Supernova+ published footage of fires at NORSI (Lukoil-Nizhegorodorgsintez), Russia’s fourth-largest refinery and second-largest gasoline producer (~15–17 million tonnes of crude a year), about 800 km from the Ukrainian border. It also makes bitumen, diesel and aviation fuel for forces.
Ukraine has hit the site several times, including on 26 August when a large fire forced a suspension. Since 2026 Kyiv has kept up a long-range drone campaign on refineries and fuel depots.
In the same update: a Russian airstrike destroyed Kramatorsk’s city council building; a Kyiv energy hit left districts without power and water; Ukraine’s General Staff says it struck the Kamensky plant (Rostov) making solid propellant for MLRS. Oleshky residents reached Kyiv-held territory after a 19-hour evacuation.
