Rijkswaterstaat is working, until Friday 16 October 2026 in the morning, on the A2 between the Everdingen and Deil junctions towards ’s-Hertogenbosch. The first phase began on Monday 7 September. The whole motorway is not closed: between Culemborg and Geldermalsen three of four lanes remain open in both directions, with a 90 km/h limit.

In this phase about seven kilometres of asphalt are being replaced with a quieter surface. Work also covers barriers, signs, bridges, viaducts, lighting and the Bisde service area near Beesd. The pavement, the authority says, has reached the end of its life; emergency repairs earlier this year showed the cost of delay.

Towards ’s-Hertogenbosch, night closures between Everdingen and Geldermalsen are announced, plus ramps shut for set intervals. In peak hours extra travel time can reach 60 minutes. Rat-runs through villages are discouraged: local roads are not built for motorway diversions.

The wider programme continues in 2027 on other stretches of the same corridor. Dates for those phases are not yet set. The 16 October deadline applies to the autumn 2026 stage.

Drivers should check signs and official traffic information before setting out. Restrictions can change by night and by weather.
