Abergavenny is preparing for a weekend devoted to food as its Food Festival returns on 19 and 20 September.

The event turns several spaces around the Welsh town into markets, demonstration areas and meeting places for producers, chefs, writers and audiences.

The festival is built not only around tasting but also conversations about where food comes from, local production, cooking and food culture.

For independent producers, the event offers an opportunity to present directly to a large food-interested audience.

For visitors, the format allows them to explore the town alongside the festival programme.

Some activities and areas are included in general admission while particular events can have separate rules or tickets.

The exact programme, guests and ticket availability should be checked on the official website before attending.
