Authorities issued a new RO-Alert message in northern Tulcea county on Sunday, warning about the possibility of objects falling from the airspace. ACTUAL UPDATE. A drone flew for approximately 20 minutes over territorial waters and along the Sulina arm, in the national airspace, and was subsequently shot down in Ukraine, according to MApN.

The initial news was transmitted by the Ministry of Defense, as cited by News.ro. The radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) detected an aerial target near the river border with Ukraine on August 2nd at 15:09. Two F-16 aircraft from the 86th Aerial Base Borcea were raised from the ground at 15:17 to monitor the situation. The National Military Command Center (NMC) notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations to institute measures to alert the population of Tulcea county, which transmitted the RO-Alert message.

A short while ago, a RO-Alert message was issued for residents in the northern part of Tulcea county, warning of the possibility of objects falling from the airspace. As usual, the population is advised to take shelter and remain calm. This is the second message issued on Sunday.

An aerial target was detected in the early morning of Sunday by the radar systems of the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) near the river border with Ukraine, leading to the issuance of an RO-Alert for Tulcea county. Later, the aerial target disappeared from the radar systems, without entering Romanian airspace.
