Egypt’s financial regulator approved on Sunday, 18 October, the Banque du Caire prospectus for a listing in Cairo. Bloomberg wrote that the sale could raise up to about $454 million. Daily News Egypt, quoting Hashem El-Sayed, head of the state-companies unit, gave a range of EGP 4.82–5.30 a share, or up to EGP 24.25 billion at the top. This is not investment advice.

The offer is secondary: 4.575 billion existing shares, 30% of capital, sold by Banque Misr, not new stock. The bank announced its intention on 11 October. Ninety-five percent goes to a private placement for qualified investors, including in the United States under Rule 144A; 5% to the Egyptian public. The stake may rise, under the rules, to 45%.

Orders, El-Sayed said, run from 19 to 23 October. The final price is due by 26 October at the latest. Trading is expected in early November if the FRA and EGX give the last clearances. CI Capital is lead global coordinator; EFG Hermes is joint coordinator. Hussein Abaza is chief executive. Net profit after tax, first half of 2026: EGP 8.94 billion, according to Daily News Egypt.

The bank was listed before; the shares came off in 2017. The return is part of the government’s offering programme. Implied market value, at the top of the range, is about EGP 80.83 billion. Those figures are prospectus and an indicative range, not a close.

Until the price and allocation are announced, $454 million remains a marketing cap. The Egyptian public subscription, on the bank’s timetable, may run to 28 October. None of this is a recommendation to buy or sell.

Cairo is thus putting a state bank on the EGX through a sale by a state shareholder. The FRA signature on the prospectus opens the order book; it does not close the offer.
