Former Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu accuses Doru Cazan — the Apele Române chief she dismissed and whom current minister Natalia Intotero reinstated — of quickly signing a decision she calls “influence peddling for the PSD”: the reappointment of Daniel Naicu, a PSD county councillor, to head the Jiu Water Basin Administration, Digi24 reports citing her Facebook post.
According to Buzoianu, the Environment Ministry’s control body found 10 million lei in damages at ABA Jiu a few weeks ago. She says Naicu was held responsible in those checks for failing, over two years, to finish surveying land where the administration carried out works. His term had expired days earlier and was not extended; Cazan’s decision, she says, lets him return.
Buzoianu frames the appointment as a “gift” to a PSD figure, tied to Cazan’s return to Apele Române after Intotero revoked the dismissal order. “The incompetents and corrupt people I pushed out the door are coming back through the window,” she wrote.
Background: Buzoianu dismissed Cazan after two illegal gravel pits were found in Olt; the order did not take effect during about four months of medical leave. After Intotero took the ministry, the order was revoked and Cazan returned. Buzoianu publicly called the return a “medical miracle” linked to the political change. These are Buzoianu’s accusations; Digi24 does not report a court ruling on the claims.
