Ana Francis López Bayghen, Mexico City’s culture secretary, announced the starting point of the Great Day of the Dead Parade: the Diana Cazadora roundabout, on Paseo de la Reforma. Saturday 31 October. A route announcement. Not the parade already held. Dump El Universal.
Against previous years, the start moves. The Jefatura de Gobierno transcript, with Clara Brugada: the tenth edition, still on Reforma, the exit “now at Diana”. The same four homages: Nelly Campobello, Juan Rulfo, Juan Gabriel, Emilio “El Indio” Fernández. The same 12 floats, two balloons, more than 4,000 people. IMS for the music. It is not a parade report. It is the programme.
Argel Gómez Concheiro, under-secretary for festivals: the first public call for floats; 60 proposals; among those chosen, Michoacán, from Pátzcuaro, and Campeche. Two states. Not the whole cortège.
The public channels — Canal 11, Capital 21, Canal 14, Canal 22 — will carry it. TikTok, a coverage with cultural creators. An intention to broadcast. Not a measured audience.
Expansión wrote, on 14 October, both 14:00 and the finish at the Zócalo, on 5 de Mayo. El Universal, on the 21st, did not put the hour. Stay with the dump’s start. Do not mix the monumental ofrenda and the 32-metre Catrina, from the same briefing, with the parade.
Dump El Universal. The rewrite rests on El Universal and the Jefatura de Gobierno transcript.
