A 76-year-old man with special needs was taken out of a Volkswagen Passat on fire on Muncești Street in Chișinău. It happened on Monday morning. The driver was not injured. The cause of the fire has not been published.

The 112 service took the call at 08:30, according to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, cited by TV8 and Moldova 1. Before firefighters arrived, two police officers on duty saw the car and got the driver out. Published images show dense smoke from the engine area and an extinguisher used until the intervention crew arrived.

Firefighters found the burning in the engine section. The fire was put out at 08:46. No casualties were reported. That is the IGSU account of this incident, not another car fire in the city.

The National Inspectorate for Public Security thanked the two officers, Virgiliu and Dumitru, on duty with a ministry vehicle. The thanks are an internal statement, not a medal and not a closed investigation.

TV8 and Moldova 1 describe the same sequence: police on Muncești, the driver taken out, firefighters, the engine, 16 minutes between the call and extinction. Neither text gives a technical cause. Until an expert report, this remains a car fire that was put out, with a man taken from the cabin.

Muncești Street is in Chișinău. The model is a Passat. The time is 08:30–08:46. The age is 76. Those are the figures in the statements. Why the engine caught fire is not, on Monday, in the TV8 and Moldova 1 texts.
