Firefighters were called on the night of 20–21 October after an explosion at a dwelling on Fântânele Street in Constanța. Digi24 repeated the Constanța emergency inspectorate’s statement on Wednesday. This is an incident and a response, not a confirmed perpetrator and not an attack.
Ziua de Constanța puts the house at number 26. Three fire engines, a SMURD crew and a CBRN crew from the Port Detachment were sent, according to the inspectorate. Știripesurse quotes ISU Dobrogea with the same forces, including a SMURD B2 ambulance.
The explosion was not followed by a fire, firefighters said. It happened after gas built up from a defective stove. That is the inspectorate’s first account, not a published forensic report and not a court ruling.
A 72-year-old man was brought out of the house, conscious, with burns to the scalp and injuries to the arms. He was taken to hospital. The inspectorate did not name him and did not announce a death.
In daylight, Ziua de Constanța showed damage at the house where the blast happened and noted that the neighbouring house was also affected. Știripesurse writes that ISU Dobrogea did not state the scale of the damage. We do not treat “devastation” headlines as an official tally.
We do not mix this case with an explosion followed by fire at a factory in Medgidia, a different incident that Digi24 listed as a related story on the same page. Here it is a house on Fântânele, with no fire after the blast.
Until a public technical inquiry exists, the closed fact is the night on Fântânele: an explosion from gas from a defective stove, no fire, a conscious 72-year-old man taken to hospital, emergency crews on scene.
