Romanian Post will start home delivery of December 2026 pensions on Wednesday, 2 December, after the 1 December national holiday, director-general Ștefan Valentin told Digi24. Deliveries could finish by 16 December, ahead of the winter holidays.
“Romanian Post is ready to distribute December pensions without delays. Because 1 December, Romania’s National Day, is a public holiday, we will start deliveries on Wednesday, 2 December. Deliveries will take place on 2, 3 and 4 December and continue the following week,” Valentin said.
The company has 15 calendar days for distribution but usually finishes earlier. For December it expects to complete by 16 December, with no delays anticipated.
For pensioners paid by bank, the amount is credited on the 12th of the month, no later than the 13th. Beneficiaries can use the money as soon as it hits the account.
Cash pensions are delivered at home between the 1st and 15th, depending on the local post office schedule. Anyone not found at home who receives a notice can collect the money at the counter within two working days after the last payment day of that month, according to CNPP.
For account payments, the mauve information slip is sent separately to the home address between the 1st and 15th, the National Public Pension House says.
