At the time of publication, Europe lead the United States 8-7 in the 2026 Solheim Cup at Bernardus Golf, near 's-Hertogenbosch. The live board is no longer the 7-5 score that stood after Saturday morning foursomes: three completed fourball points have already been added, and the last match of the day — Carlota Ciganda and Céline Boutier against Jennifer Kupcho and Lindy Duncan — was all square on the 18th.
Friday had finished 4-4 after two shared sessions. On Saturday morning Anna Nordqvist’s side won three of the four foursomes and moved to 7-5. In the afternoon fourballs, Maja Stark and Linn Grant earned Europe’s first point of the session, 2&1 over Megan Khang and Lauren Coughlin. The United States answered twice: Rose Zhang and Auston Kim beat Leona Maguire and Nastasia Nadaud 3&2, and Yealimi Noh and Andrea Lee beat Charley Hull and Lottie Woad 1 Up. That left the contest 8-7 with one match still out on the course.
Official Saturday foursomes results confirm a 3-1 European session. Stark and Grant beat world No. 1 Nelly Korda, according to the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, and Allisen Corpuz 3&2, ending the Americans’ perfect record as a foursomes pairing. Maguire and Esther Henseleit won 1 Up on the 18th against Kupcho and Zhang. Nadaud and Mimi Rhodes beat Andrea Lee and Auston Kim 4&3. The United States’ only morning point was emphatic: Alison Lee and Lauren Coughlin defeated Hull and Woad 6&5.
Hull and Woad have been sent out together in all four sessions so far. After Saturday afternoon’s 1 Up defeat to Noh and Andrea Lee, Sky Sports noted that the English pairing had only half a point from four matches. Stark and Grant, by contrast, have three wins from three as a team, including the fourball point against Khang and Coughlin.
The Solheim Cup is match play between Team Europe and Team USA, with 28 points available. The format is four foursomes and four fourballs on Friday and Saturday, then 12 singles on Sunday. Europe need 14.5 points to win the trophy. The United States, as holders, retain it if the overall score finishes 14-14, so 14 points are enough to keep the cup. Europe must win the contest; the United States can retain it with a tie.
The 2026 edition is the first Solheim Cup staged in the Netherlands. The host venue is Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, North Brabant. Europe are captained by Anna Nordqvist and the United States by Angela Stanford. Sunday 13 September’s 12 singles matches will decide the winners, whether Saturday’s last fourball ends in a European point, a United States point or a half.
