FII Institute said on Monday that the tenth Future Investment Initiative conference, scheduled in Riyadh for 26 to 29 October 2026, is moving to 2027. The message is signed by the chief executive, Princess Maha bint Mishari Al Saud. It is a postponement. It is not a cancellation.
The new 2027 dates have not been announced. The Institute says it will publish them soon. Registrations and partnerships remain valid, and FII teams are to contact people already registered.
The reason given in the letter is the tenth-anniversary edition: the organisers want FII10, themed The Power of Legacy, to have the scale and quality that partners expect. The letter does not offer a substitute 2026 timetable and does not describe a scaled-down event this year.
The conference was to be held at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center. Riyadh has hosted every edition since the first, in 2017, launched by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. In the official message the theme remains The Power of Legacy.
On the same conference page, the frequently-asked-questions section still lists a day-by-day programme for 26-29 October 2026. That is leftover text. Those are not the dates after the postponement.
CNBC reported on Monday that the delay comes after the 10 October attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The Institute's public letter does not name security as the reason. The CNBC account is context, not the FII statement.
The US network also noted that, before the postponement, the speaker list included names from US banks. A past speaker list does not mean the same people are confirmed for 2027. No deal for a future edition is announced now.
