Dinamo striker George Pușcaș appeared on Friday, 16 October 2026, at DIICOT’s headquarters for a hearing in the Nordis case, accompanied by a lawyer. Press reports describe him as someone trying to recover money, not as a defendant. A hearing is not a conviction and does not settle losses.

According to Adevărul, Pușcaș paid for several apartments that were not built or handed over and is trying to recover about €2.5 million. That figure is an amount claimed in the press, not a court finding. Eurosport, citing Fanatik, confirms Friday’s appearance before investigators.

He is not the only footballer named. Adevărul writes that Florin Gardoș is seeking about €170,000, Alessandro Caparco about €120,000 and Cristian Bărbuț about €63,000; Adrian Ropotan also appears on the creditors’ list. Eurosport attributes a €5,000 advance to Ropotan. The figures differ by source and remain claims, not judged sums.

The Nordis case concerns hundreds of buyers who, reports say, paid in full or in advances for homes marketed as luxury projects, especially on the coast, and did not receive the properties. Prosecutors are investigating, according to the coverage, fraud, embezzlement, money-laundering and forming an organised criminal group. Those allegations must be proven.

Among people named in the file, the press lists businessman Vladimir Ciorbă and Laura Vicol, a former PSD MP. Both are presumed innocent until a final ruling. Investigators are tracing sums collected from clients.

On Wednesday, 14 October, the Bucharest Court of Appeal lifted seizures on the assets of Nordis Management and Nordis Mamaia, Adevărul reported; measures on Ciorbă’s assets remained. The two firms’ assets, citing Fanatik, would exceed €120 million. Lifting a seizure does not close the criminal case.
