On Saturday, 19 September 2026, the Bucharest branch of Retromobil Club România organises the 28th Giurgiu 1904 Memorial Rally. According to the official page, the start is scheduled for 10:00 from the Mall București parking area. The event is a regularity rally, not a speed race: the ranking follows prescribed average speeds on roads that remain open to traffic.
The announced route is about 230 kilometres, split into two stages. Organisers reserve places for a maximum of 70 crews, in order of entry. Only cars and motorcycles certified as historic vehicles may take part. The 2026 edition counts as the sixth round of the historic regularity championship run by Retromobil Club România.
Entries opened on 26 August and closed at midday on 13 September, or when the maximum number of participants was reached. Applications were accepted only through the club’s form. Spectators who want to see the cars at the start should follow updates on access, timing and any restrictions, because the commercial area remains in use.
The rally’s name recalls the 1904 Bucharest–Giurgiu competition, a landmark in the early years of Romanian motoring. Saturday’s event does not identically reproduce that early-twentieth-century route; it is a contemporary tribute, with regularity rules, timing and certified vehicles. For owners, taking part means maintenance, documentation and compliance with the regulations. For the public, it is a chance to see models that illustrate changes in automotive engineering, without treating the rally as an unregulated parade.
