The official X account of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad was hacked in the early hours of Monday. Around 1.30 a.m., @RGIAHyd posted promotions for a cryptocurrency rewards scheme, StonkFun Season 1, with an eligibility checker and the Solana ecosystem. GMR Hyderabad International Airport regained access and took down the unauthorised posts. The account is working again.
The Hindu describes the content: a call to check eligibility, open "for only one day", plus a promotional image. Telangana Today and PTI confirm the same sequence: unauthorised access, recovery by the IT team, a complaint to cybercrime police and to the platform. Who broke in is not named. The investigation is open; it is not a verdict.
The airport said the X handle is not tied to operational systems. Traffic, passenger services and critical systems were not affected. That is the operator's statement, not a public audit. This is not an attack on the runways and not a terminal shutdown.
The crypto posts are not an airport product. Do not check eligibility on an ad that appeared on a hacked account. Recovering the account closes Monday's unauthorised access. It does not close a criminal file.
RGIA is in Shamshabad, near Hyderabad. The incident is Monday, 19 October. Until an investigation report, three facts remain: unauthorised posts, the account recovered, flight operations untouched.
The Hindu and Telangana Today stop there. Those texts have no sum stolen from tickets and no group name. Anyone writing that "crypto hackers took the airport" is writing past the statement.
