Antibiotice Iași CEO Ioan Nani has asked for his mandate to end from 4 December 2026, after nearly three decades at the helm, News.ro reports, citing a notice filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
“Antibiotice S.A. informs shareholders and investors that, at the request of Mr Ioan Nani, Chief Executive Officer, his mandate contract ends on 4 December 2026. The Board of Directors noted the request at its meeting on 29 October 2026,” the company said.
Under his leadership, Antibiotice became one of Romania’s leading generic drug makers, with an RX and non-RX portfolio (OTC, supplements, medical devices), exports to 70 countries and a world-leading position in producing the active substance nystatin. Spending more time with family is presented as the reason for the step.
Until 4 December 2026, Nani keeps full duties and, with the Board, coordinates the transition. Operations continue under the Administration Plan approved by shareholders; the executive team will maintain day-to-day activity, partner relations and investment projects underway.
After that date, the Board will appoint an interim CEO and run a selection process for a permanent successor under Government Emergency Ordinance No. 109/2011 on corporate governance of state-owned enterprises. The General Meeting of Shareholders will be convened to name a provisional director and start selection of a definitive one.
Strategic goals remain unchanged, the company said: sustainable growth, a stronger domestic position, international expansion and protecting shareholders’ long-term interests.
