Jimmy Fallon was born on 19 September 1974 in Brooklyn and grew up in Saugerties, New York. Impressions took him from comedy clubs into the Saturday Night Live cast in 1998. He did characters, celebrity pastiche and co-anchored Weekend Update with Tina Fey, until 2004.

After a spell in film he took over Late Night in 2009. Guest games, musical sketches and clips designed for social platforms became the core. In 2014 he succeeded Jay Leno on NBC’s Tonight Show.
