Romanian Police, under the General Prosecutor’s Office (PICCJ) and IGPR, launched Operation “JUPITER 6” on Monday: 39 operational actions, 202 home-search warrants and 23 bring-in warrants in Bucharest and several counties, Mediafax reports.
The cases cover, among others, tax evasion, money laundering, aggravated smuggling, fraud, aggravated theft, forgery, domestic violence, sexual offences against minors, gambling, weapons and ammunition, explosives, poaching, illegal logging, abuse of office, counterfeiting and waste rules. Quantified damage: 15,171,256 lei and €1,520,000.
Searches aim to seize accounting and fiscal documents, devices and storage media, illegally held weapons, explosives, pyrotechnics and crime proceeds. Authorities also seek to freeze assets and impose conservatory measures to recover losses.
Bring-in warrants are being executed for hearings. The drive matches Public Ministry priorities: documenting offences, dismantling networks, recovering damage and protecting vulnerable people.
