A crash between two heavy trucks occurred overnight Sunday to Monday near the Iron Gates I dam on DN6 in Mehedinți county. Three people were injured and taken to hospital, Mediafax reports citing ISU Mehedinți.

Crews from the Drobeta Turnu Severin fire detachment responded. The victims were conscious and cooperative with polytrauma; they received on-site care, then were taken to Drobeta Turnu Severin emergency by SMURD and SAJ.

Military firefighters also secured fire-prevention measures. According to DRDP Craiova, traffic was blocked in both directions in the area, with work under way to reopen one lane.
