Moldova and Ukraine are set to introduce joint border control on Moldovan territory at the Criva–Mămăliga and Mirnoe–Tabaki crossings, the Moldovan Border Police said, according to JurnalTV.
Draft protocols have been sent to the Ukrainian side and are under review. They can be signed after negotiations end and bureaucratic procedures are completed.
The Moldovan agency says joint control is meant to strengthen public security, ease cross-border traffic and ensure safer conditions when crossing the state border.
The announcement was made on 30 October 2026. JurnalTV cites the Border Police and gives no firm start date; the stated stage remains draft protocols under examination in Ukraine.
The two points — Criva–Mămăliga and Mirnoe–Tabaki — are named explicitly as the sites for joint control on Moldova’s territory, not on Ukraine’s.
Until the documents are signed, the report does not announce an immediate operational change; next steps depend on talks and finishing administrative procedures.
