A drone illegally crossed the airspace of the Republic of Moldova on Wednesday morning, coming from Ukraine’s Odesa region and heading toward Vinnytsia, the Defence Ministry in Chișinău said.
According to the National Army’s Air Operations Center, the unmanned aircraft entered national airspace at 04:23 from the direction of Zahnitkiv (Odesa region) and proceeded toward the town of Camenca in the Transnistrian segment.
It left Moldovan airspace at 04:25 near Vărăncău (Soroca district), toward Ukraine’s Vinnytsia region — about two minutes over Moldova.
The incident took place amid massive Russian attacks on Ukraine, the statement said. The Air Operations Center continues to monitor Moldovan airspace in coordination with competent authorities and partners.
Moldpres carried the same times and route. Earlier ministry reporting said drones violated Moldovan airspace 19 times in October during attacks on Ukraine, with six craft crashing and exploding on Moldovan territory.
The official statement does not specify the drone type or whether the craft was intercepted or only tracked on sensors. Monitoring remains active with partners amid intensified attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
