The 191st Oktoberfest is being held on the Theresienwiese in Munich from Saturday 19 September to Sunday 4 October 2026. The city site confirms the first tap at noon on 19 September in the Schottenhamel tent, after the brewers’ procession.

Entry to the festival grounds and the large marquees is free. Oide Wiesn, the historic area at the southern end of the Theresienwiese, charges adults €4; children up to 14 enter free. A table reservation is separate from general admission.

In 2026 there are 17 large tents and 21 small ones, plus more than 100 rides and stalls. Sunday 20 September brings the costume and marksmen’s parade. Tuesdays 22 and 29 September are family days, with reduced prices on many rides until 7 pm.

Bag rules are strict: rucksacks of at most 3 litres and 20 × 15 × 10 centimetres. There are no visitor car parks next to the Theresienwiese; organisers recommend the underground, S-Bahn or walking. Checks can lengthen queues.

Beer is served in the large tents until 10:30 pm and in the small ones until 11 pm, with a general close at 11:30 pm, with exceptions at a few tents. Hours also differ between weekdays and weekends. The programme includes the Marstall church service on 24 September, the open-air concert on 27 September and the gun salutes on 4 October.

Estimates of millions of visitors remain estimates until the official closing tally. Anyone travelling to Munich should check lodging, the site map and security updates on the day of the visit.
