On Tuesday morning, 20 October 2026, Revolut confirmed a service interruption that hit several app functions in Romania, the United Kingdom and other countries. Through its official support account on X, the company said some services may be unreachable and that engineers were working to restore them.

Mediafax reported that users could not open their accounts, could not make transfers and, in some cases, could not pay by card. During the morning, thousands of reports appeared on Downdetector from several countries, including Romania.

The X message described an interruption under way at the time it was posted, not an incident already closed. The reporting consulted has no later company notice that everything was back.

Not every customer was hit the same way. Some said they could do nothing; others said the app or card payments still worked. Customers described refusals at shops, including supermarkets, and blocks when topping up. Reddit posts are not an official tally.

Observator carried the same Revolut notice: some app functions cannot be reached, some services may be temporarily unavailable, and the technical team is working. We do not take ATM withdrawals or foreign-exchange from that outlet as company-confirmed facts; the firm’s text does not name them.

Besides Romania and Britain, Mediafax listed Ireland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, the Netherlands and Estonia. In Romania, Revolut operates through the local branch of Revolut Bank UAB.

Audience context, not the cause of the outage: at the end of September the company had said it had more than five million retail customers in Romania. Tuesday morning’s interruption is the incident; the customer figure is an earlier announcement.
