NewsCenter, 19 October: twenty cattle companies, chosen by the newsroom, turned over 1.73 billion lei in 2025. Net result, 130.8 million. The headline says “towards two billion”. The body does not. It is not the whole sector. It is not a closed national ranking. The data, ListaFirme.ro. Staff, annual average.

The first two places are not, necessarily, the largest farms. C.C. Bovine, Tulghieș, Maramureș: 213.9 million lei, profit 5.75 million, 14 people. Live-animal trade and export. No verified own herd for 2025. Owner: Global Agro Management BV, the Netherlands. Dutch Trading International, Mizil: 183 million, profit 12.3 million, 46 staff. Buying, reselling, sheep in the mix. Together, 397.2 million. Turnover measures the transit, not the barn.

Risco, 27 August, on the same accounts: C.C. Bovine 213.93 million, up 75 per cent on 2024. Dutch Trading 183.25 million. Karpaten Meat Siebenbuergen 116.48 million, sales up 83 per cent, profit down, 220,023 lei. Databases show zero staff at Siebenbuergen. NewsCenter wants a check in the original balance sheet. We do not write that the group has no people. Herd figures on Karpaten’s site, undated, belong to the group, not to one company and not to 2025.

Milk, another model. Apold, Lacto Agrar and Cut, in the DN Agrar family: 219.8 million in sales, 53.4 million profit, before cutting intra-group trades. Apold and Cut, Lactalis suppliers. Afiliu Trans, milk for Olympus. Maxagro Lact, for Simultan. The raw-milk contract ties the farm to the plant. It is not full integration.

Integration, where it exists: Agroserv Măriuța, Drăgoești. Farm and Lăptăria cu Caimac. Listed, ticker MILK. 108.9 million, profit 3.7 million, 227 staff. On 31 December 2025: 2,976 cattle, of which 1,196 dairy cows. About 67 per cent of the milk went into its own plant. Karpaten, at group level: Angus, from breeding to meat. Separate commercial costs. Coremans Zootehnia, profit about a third of turnover. Agrozootehnica Ulmeni, at a loss. Net result can include subsidies. It is not the litre, not the kilo.

Two billion remains a headline. In the text: 1.73, twenty companies, mixed models. That is all. The photograph: cows in Romania, 19 May 2016. Not the barn in Tulghieș. Not the plant in Ialomița.
