The PACE - Intai Romania parliamentary group dissolved on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, in the Senate plenary, after senator Nadia Cerva, the group's former leader, said she was leaving and would sit as an unaffiliated member. Agerpres writes that the minimum for a Senate group is seven members. Wednesday's dissolution is the closed fact. It is not a re-establishment already approved.

Cerva spoke at the opening of the sitting. She apologised to colleagues from USR and AUR for Ninel Peia's speech in Tuesday's joint sitting. She said this Parliament has no extremist parties, of the left or of the right. Bursa carries the same statement, citing Agerpres.

After the dissolution, senator Dumitru Manea, a member of S.O.S. Romania, announced his affiliation. Agerpres writes that this affiliation restored the minimum of seven members for the group to exist. Senator Clement Sava asked for the group to be restored. A request is not a decision to re-establish it.

Senate president Mircea Abrudean said, on the recommendation of Liviu Mazilu (PSD), that the situation would be examined after the plenary, in the Standing Bureau. A Bureau review is not a vote already taken and not a published reconstitution.

Stiri pe Surse notes that the sitting was the Senate's first plenary after the new government was sworn in. That is the day's working context, not the subject of this article. The same report writes that after Cerva left, the group had six senators elected on SOS lists, below the threshold of seven.

The public list of groups on senat.ro still shows PACE - Intai Romania with seven members and Cerva as leader. That page does not replace the announcement in the chamber and does not prove that the Standing Bureau has already approved a re-establishment.

Stiri pe Surse writes that PACE - Intai Romania was formed on 3 September 2025, by a reorganisation of parliamentarians from S.O.S. Romania and the Young People's Party. The 2025 formation does not cancel Wednesday's dissolution.

Until a Standing Bureau decision, the dissolution announced in the plenary stands. Manea's affiliation and Sava's request open the procedure; they do not close it.
