Monday 19 October, 06:30: Societatea Națională de Radiocomunicații (SNR, Radiocom) detected a cybersecurity incident. The communiqué, carried by Radio România and the Economy Ministry: first checks show the characteristics of a ransomware attack. Characteristics, not a named strain. There is no DIICOT case file in the text. The company says it will notify the competent bodies, including DIICOT.

The impact, still on checks so far, appears concentrated in the internal network. Email has been suspended as a precaution for the investigation. Customer services, SNR and DNSC say, are still running; so far, no sign they have been hit. Preliminary. They are monitoring.

The incident was reported through the National Platform for Reporting Cybersecurity Incidents (PNRISC). A DNSC team is at the company headquarters, to investigate and assess the impact. Digi24 reprints the same note and DNSC’s confirmation. We have not written that the national radio output stopped. We have not written that customer data has been posted.

SNR is assessing which data were touched and says it will inform the people and institutions concerned, as the law requires. That is their notification duty, not a leak tally. Until email is back, they gave an emergency phone number and a temporary contact; they ask that messages in SNR’s name be treated with caution and that unexpected links or attachments not be opened. The communiqué’s estimate for the next update: 19 October, 16:00.

Andreea Mitran, communications office, is the press contact in the ministry note. That is all. No attribution of authors. No attack recipe.

Incident detected Monday morning. Under investigation. Not a verdict. Not DIICOT announcing a case.
