A man of about 30 was remanded in custody on Friday morning at Södertälje District Court, in the large inquiry around the person known in the press as “Greken” — suspected, not convicted, of leading the Dalen network. The detained man is registered in Stockholm. His name is not here: the inquiry is open. He denies the offences.

He is suspected, on probable cause (sannolika skäl), of aggravated narcotics crime and five counts of aggravated narcotics smuggling. Part of the alleged smuggling is said to have been in Sundsvall in January 2021. That is the prosecution’s version, not a sentence. Chamber prosecutor Daniel Jonsson, who leads the inquiry, tells SVT the two men committed part of the aggravated drug crime together. Asked whether the detainee acted on “Greken’s” orders, he says no: his assessment is that they acted together and by agreement, with a joint scheme. That is a prosecutor’s view, not a verdict.

SVT, from sources, says the detainee and “Greken” have known each other since youth, including junior sport in Västernorrland. SödertäljeKuriren confirms the remand, the age, the counts, the denial and the Sundsvall link, without naming the man.

“Greken” was caught in Mexico a year ago, after an international warrant. He is suspected of having led the Dalen network from abroad. He denies, in other remand hearings, all counts. The network and control of Sundsvall’s drug market remain allegations, not judged facts.

Charges in the case may come at the earliest in December, still at Södertälje. The trial, provisionally, early next year. Until then the presumption of innocence holds for the detainee and for “Greken”.

We do not publish the 30-year-old’s name. He is not convicted. It is not proved that he is “the man beside” anyone, beyond the prosecutor’s suspicion.
