The Tinmar Foundation is expanding its “Education for the Future” programme and this school year is awarding merit scholarships to 320 students in Bucharest’s Sector 4 with overall averages above 9.50, according to a statement carried by News.ro.
Since launch the project has supported more than 7,000 students in Romania, and cumulative investment exceeds €2.8 million, the foundation says. Education is presented as the organisation’s main strategic pillar.
In the coming period the programme is due to expand to Bucharest’s Sector 1, Ilfov County, Bihor County and Teleorman County, offering scholarships to high-performing students in those communities.
“Education is not only a social-engagement direction, but one of the most important investments we can make for Romania’s future,” Tinmar Foundation president Ioan Bratu said in the statement.
A Sector 4 school-inspectorate representative praised the private–school partnership and said the 320 scholars had proven their worth through academic results. The release does not detail the individual scholarship amount for this round.
The initiative remains a private merit-scholarship project, not a public policy. Longer-term impact depends on continued funding and cooperation with inspectorates and partner schools.
