The UCI Road World Championships in Montréal continue on Monday, 21 September 2026 with the Under-23 individual time trials, for women and men. It is the second competition day of the 20–27 September edition; the Elite time trials were scheduled on Sunday.

The organisers’ official schedule, updated in April, places the women’s U23 race between 09:00 and 10:40 local time (UTC−4), with the awards ceremony at 11:00. The men’s U23 race is listed from 12:00 to 14:25, with awards at 14:45. The start is announced on Avenue du Parc, the finish in Parc Jeanne-Mance.

For the men’s event the organising committee publishes 31.3 km and 197 m of elevation. Distances and start orders for the women’s race should be confirmed from the same official channels on race day, not from outdated previews.

Time trialling tests physical preparation, aerodynamics, concentration and how a rider spreads effort. For athletes at the beginning of international careers, a U23 world title may influence later selections; it does not, on its own, define long-term value.

UCI lists exactly these two Under-23 events for 21 September. The rest of the programme — mixed team relay, juniors, road races — occupies the following days through 27 September. The edition comprises 13 world-championship events.

This account does not name favourites, split times or a podium. Training hours, start lists and weather changes should be read from UCI and montreal2026.org.

Montréal thus reserves a day for the U23 generation, distinct from the Elite time trials on 20 September. Confusing the categories would be a scheduling error, not a nuance of commentary.

For spectators, 21 September is a medal session on an urban course, not the end of the championships. The Elite road races remain scheduled for the following weekend.
