Don Felder turns 79 on 21 September 2026. The American musician was born in Florida in 1947 and is known as a guitarist, songwriter and former member of the Eagles.

He joined the group in 1974 and remained until 2001. He contributed to the albums that followed the lineup change, including “Hotel California.” He is credited with Don Henley and Glenn Frey as a writer of the title song: Felder wrote the music, Henley and Frey the lyrics.

On guitar he worked with Joe Walsh on the closing solos of that track. His contributions also included other songs on the album, such as “Victim of Love.” Composition credits are read from the original release, not from summaries.

The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and Felder entered with the band in that class. After leaving the group he continued with solo recordings and concerts.

The band’s history includes legal disputes and differing accounts of some events. An anniversary article stays with documented facts: the years in the band, writing credits, the discography. It does not reproduce protected lyrics.

For authorship, the reference is the credit register and the musician’s official page. A birthday does not reopen a lawsuit and does not assign a 2026 concert without an announcement.
