Jerry Bruckheimer turns 83 on 21 September 2026. Born in Detroit in 1943, the American producer moved from advertising into cinema and television over several decades.

In the 1980s and 1990s he worked in tandem with Don Simpson. The partnership produced widely seen films and ended with Simpson’s death in 1996. Bruckheimer has since continued under his own production name.

In film, his name is tied to titles including “Flashdance,” “Beverly Hills Cop,” “Top Gun,” “Bad Boys” and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series. These productions span different genres; a producer credit does not replace direction or the screenplay.

In television, his company developed “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and related series. Audiences and box-office figures vary by market, rerelease and methodology. An anniversary article does not pool them into an unattributed total.
